The Yoshon cutoff dates for the following products are as follows:

1These numbers or lower are yoshon. Isolate the plant code from the full code that is printed on the bag and then find the year and date codes.

Flour - (COR 285)  - Regular White Flour - Best Before 2022 AU 22 or earlier. Whole Wheat - Best Before 2022 FE 22 or earlier. Organic - Sept 30, 21.

Any flour with a ‘PH ‘ in the code incl. Great Plains, Compliments and other brand names – If the number after PH in the code is ‘7’ a BB date of 2022 AU 22 or earlier. If the number is ’2’ a BB date of 2022 SE 12 or earlier.

Alternative coding; 1 234 7 or lower, 1 255 2 or lower.

Bakers Hood, Sunspun  (COR323) - If the plant code is ‘MT’- a date code of 1-270 or lower. If the plant code is ‘SK’- a date code of 1-236or lower.

No Name Flour - If the best before date includes “PFM” use the same code as COR 285 flour. If it is “PH” (0)7 or “PH” (0)2 use the codes noted above for “PH”. If it is “AD” a best before code of 2022 SE 15 or earlier.  Whole Wheat flour - Best Before codes are 4 months earlier.

PC Flour - All Purpose flour - if the BB date includes “PFM” it will remain yoshon. Organic - BB 2022 SE 30 or earlier. Whole Wheat 2022 MA 30 or earlier.

Rodelle Flour (20kg bags) - yoshon until Dec 9, 21- must have a “P” in the code.

Robin Hood - Old Mill Oats - date code of 1 293 or lower.

No Name Oats -  Large Flake, One Minute, Quick- Best Before 2022 SEP 15 or earlier. (this date does not apply to single serve packets)

Quaker Oats (COR 112)

All products containing oats and/or oat bran - date code of 0915P1 or earlier.

Costco Pack – code of 0915 following the Best Before date. 5N1 is the year code and ignore other codes, i.e. 2022 SE 27  0915 5N1 0263.

Large Flake Oats & Quick Oats with “YV” - date code of 21 365 YV or earlier.

Wheat Bran - date code of 0930P1 or earlier.

A.J. Pancake Mixes (all types) – date code of 1230P1 or earlier.

General Mills

Cheerios (all types) - Best Before Sept 22, 2022 or earlier.

Nature Valley Granola bars - Any product with a best before date of 1 OC 2022 or later is very possibly chodosh. The following earlier production lot are also chodosh: Oats n Honey bulk 41006 – 32CT carton date code 06SE2022 CO plant only (individual bars may have a BB date of 9/16/22, 9/17/22 and 9/20/22) and Oats n Chocolate 14604 BB date  02SE2022 CO plant only.

Fibre 1 cereal is always yoshon.

Weetabix

Weetabix (regular and organic) - will remain yoshon.

Alpen & Grain Shop High Fibre Crisp - best before 13 OC 2022.

Post Cereals (COR 114) - Shredded Wheat, Spoon Size Shredded Wheat - Regular, Honey Toasted, Cinnamon and Wheat ‘n Bran, Light Wheat Squares are always yoshon.

Shreddies – Regular & Honey, Dark Wheat Squares, Raisin Bran & 100% Bran - will remain yoshon

Kellogg Canada (COR 246)

All Bran, Raisin Bran, Bran Flakes, Corn Flakes, Honeynut Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies and Special K - best before date of 2023 JAN 20 or earlier.

Corn Pops - are yoshon (oat flour is not a yoshon concern).

Froot Loops (Canadian only) - best before date of 2022 DEC 30 or earlier.

Presidents Choice (COR 1)

Fruity O’s - best before date of 2022 OC 2022 or earlier.

Crunchy - Maple Almond, Mixed Berry or Cranberry Almond - best before date of 2022 OC 13 or earlier.

Toasted Oats O’s, Honey Nut Oats O’s - best before date of 2022 SE 27 or earlier.

Loads of Raisins Raisin Bran &Woven Wheat Squares - will remain yoshon

Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes - best before date of 2022 Dec 31 or earlier.

PC Blue Menu (COR 1)

Fibre First, Bran Flakes and Fibre Plus Bran Flakes - will remain yoshon.

PC Organics (COR 1) - Wheat Squares -will remain yoshon. 

Rogers Foods - wheat germ and bran – Best before July 1, 2022

Barley – there is chodosh barley in the stores, dates must be checked.

Kolbo - has yoshon barley and flour.

Kosher City -flour and barley repacked by Kosher City, only with yoshon sticker.

PC Blue Menu Barley and Great Value Barley - Pearl barley lot code of 21278, Pot barley lot code of 21286 or lower.

Clic Barley - product packed on or before Oct 10, 2021.

Cedar (Phoenicia) Barley - code of PD13108 or lower.

Johnvince / Quik Kook Barley - code of 1766 or lower.

NuPak Barley - Best Before date of 2023 SEP 18 or lower is yoshon.

Pasta

Primo, COR 78 - Best Before 2024 Nov 10.

Italpasta  - Best Before Nov 24, 2023.

All other pasta with a COR 136 - use the same codes as Italpasta.

Unico - use same coding as for Primo.

PC/No Name Pasta (COR 1) - use same codes as Italpasta.

Ronzoni (Catelli & Lancia) (COR 235) - Regular (white) pasta - best before code of Nov 8 24 or earlier. Smart, Whole Wheat, Egg and Vegetable pasta - best before code of Oct 27 23 or earlier.

Catelli (with an MK) – use same codes as Grisspasta.

Grisspasta - Regular Pasta - best before 2023 Nov 10, Whole grain, Vegetables, Egg Pasta - best before 2022 Nov 10.

Ferenez /Mama (MK) - will remain yoshon.

Pita Bros Pita - will remain yoshon.

Lenchner’s - will remain yoshon.

Uri Pastries - will remain yoshon.

Maison Puff Pastry (COR 571) - will remain yoshon.

Local Establishments - This information is only applicable for products manufactured by the said establishments, on site.

The COR has placed a Yoshon Certificate in each of these establishments detailing all products. Please refer to it in case of any doubts.

Some of the establishments detailed below produce both Yoshon and non-Yoshon products. Kaylim may not be dedicated exclusively for Yoshon products.

Amazing Donuts - All baked goods are yoshon.

Aroma Kosher Espresso Bar - Only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Bali Laffa - Pita and Laffa only are yoshon.

Bubby's Bagels (Bathurst location only) -All products are yoshon.

Dr. Laffa Bakery & Cafe - All products that are baked on site are yoshon.

Dr. Laffa (both locations) - Pita and Laffa only are yoshon.

Ellen Jane Desserts - All baked goods are yoshon.

Ester’s Kosher Bakery - Only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Grodzinski (both locations) - All baked products manufactured on site are yoshon except wraps, multigrain and those containing bran and oats.

Haymishe Bakery - All baked products are yoshon except cholent, yerushalmi kugel, pasta and items containing oats and bran.

Hermes - All products that are manufactured on site are yoshon.

Howie T’s Burger Bar - Buns and burgers only are yoshon.

King David Pizza (frozen) - All pizza products.

Kosher City (incl. Randi’s & Isaac’s) - Only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Thornhill Kosher Pizza - Pizza, french fries and falafel are yoshon.

My Zaidy’s Bakery - All products that are baked on site are yoshon except organic bread, soups, baguettes, pretzel bagels, oats and bran.

My Zaidy’s Pizza - Pizza is yoshon (except imitation pepperoni).

Pizza Cafe - Pizza, falafel, french fries and wraps are yoshon.

Richmond Kosher Bakery - All baked products manufactured on site are yoshon except organic bread, multigrain and those containing bran and oats.

Slice N Bites -All products manufactured on site are yoshon except baguettes.

Sobeys Bakery - only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Surreal Sweets - only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Surreal Food Co. - only products that are marked “Yoshon”.

Tov Li Pizza (both locations) - Regular & Spelt Pizza, Pitas, Cookies, Bourekas, Blintzes, Pasta, Soups, Croutons (incl. whole wheat), Gravy, Barley are Yoshon.

All Sushi under COR Certification - only products that are marked “Yoshon”.
